RAENA HARTLEY

Raena has always had a passion for the moving body. From a young age Raena trained in all dance styles, and moved to Sydney upon completion of high school to pursue her studies in dance full-time.

After completing ‘Brent Street Performing Arts’ full-time course (1999), Raena went on to complete a BA Dance/BA Education at the University of NSW (2000-2004). Working with inspiring teachers during this time led Raena to find her passion in Choreography, and develop an on going relationship with the University who commissioned her to make several works on the dance students over the following years.

It was during this time that Raena really began to take an interest in body therapies, and Pilates became her focus.

Raena then went on to complete a ‘Diploma in Professional Pilates’ through ‘Polestar Pilates’(2005).

Raena has been teaching Pilates for the last 9 years in Sydney and London. During this time Raena has further studied in Feldenkrais, Franklin Method, Massage (NSW School of Massage), Anatomy/Cadaver, and continues to attend workshops and conferences on Pilates and related fields.

Raena finds joy in facilitating her clients to move with intelligence, and enjoy the journey.

ANNA LE HER

Anna began her bodywork with dance, training in Classical Ballet for ten years.  After graduating from Sydney University and Universite de La Rochelle, with a BA in French, her combined passion for language and the moving body led her to further her study, completing a Masters in Classical Acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama, London, 2004.  There, Anna trained extensively in voice and bodywork (using techniques such as Alexander, Feldenkrais and Yoga).  Whilst performing in London, Anna also discovered the merits of Pilates.  The results changed the way she moved, the way she felt and naturally the way she approached bodywork thereafter.

As an adjunct to her studies Anna became qualified in Anatomy, Physiology and Massage (ITEC, London), Stress management  (ITEC, London) as well as studying energy healing.   Returning to Australia, she received her Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (91491NSW), 2006 from Pilates International.  Anna practised Pilates before, during and after her pregnancy in 2007, which has also influenced her approach to teaching prenatal and postnatal women.

As a qualified Pilates practitioner Anna has worked for Pilates International (2005-2007), Powernouse Pilates  (2007-2012), Pilates Centre Mosman (2008-2012) and Studio Align (2012-2013).   She continues to develop her approach to Pilates with continuing workshops and Pilates related studies.  Anna aims to facilitate positive changes in the lives of her clients through Pilates and bodywork.

Anna and Raena met through the Pilates industry, and shared a vision, which has now become MYO & CO.  Together, they offer a unique and creative space at MYO & CO for clients to enjoy bodywork and the artistry of movement.
